The chief executive officer of Binance exchange warned people to remain away from any kind of phishing websites, which are much similar to the popular Cointracking website Coinmarketcap.

Coinmarketcap (CMC) is a popular coin tracking website, which is helpful for almost every crypto Investor because it helps to track & see all past & love price ups & downs easily. Besides the information of the coins, CMC also allows crypto wallet connect & crypto assets swaps directly, which is not a popular service of this cointracting website. Binance Holdings Limited is the parent company behind Binance exchange and this company is also the owner of CoinMarketCap.

On 27 September, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao took to Twitter to inform the crypto community that Google search results are showing ads of many fake & phishing websites, which intend to be a real CMC website.

Zhao said that such websites may result in crypto wallet hacking, which may result in fund loss.

“Google displays phishing sites when users search CMC. This affects users adding smart contract addresses to MetaMask using these phishing sites.”

Binance CEO also said that the Binance team is trying to reach the Google team to solve this matter, to remove such phishing websites from search results.

One of the Zhao followers said that Google’s team needs to do something better against these bad actors otherwise the Google ecosystem will face huge numbers of scammers.

Earlier in the past, Google banned all crypto-related ads but later allowed some particular numbers of crypto ads, which were not based on crypto investment & high yield returns.
