Binance Hires Former IRS Officer To Fight Money Laundering

Binance Exchange hired Greg Monahan, a former IRS investigator. Greg Monahan has 30 years of experience working in Investigation of illegal cases.

A recent report revealed that Binance exchange is spending 80% of their time in the cases of regulators & government authorities raised issues. This is the clear reason why Binance exchange is changing & fixing their services in favour of the regulators. They are also hiring ex-government officers to fight against the legal issues they are facing. Now Binance exchange is hiring ex-IRS officers.

Greg Manohan is now a new team member which will work as Binance’s global money laundering reporting officer.

Greg Manohan previously worked in the Inland Revenue Service ( IRS) as a former Investigator. Manohan has a total of 30 year of experience to work as a government officer. He was a special agent in the IRS to investigate criminals and criminal activities. And also he worked for the federal agency regarding many cases of financial and cyber crimes.

At the position of GMLRO at Binance, Karen Leong has been working since 2018. Now Manohan will replace him.

Manohan said on his joining of Binance, they will mainly focus on those Investigation which will be high profile. Further he added that

“My efforts will be focused on expanding Binance’s international anti-money laundering (AML) and investigation programs, as well as strengthening the organization’s relations with regulatory and law enforcement bodies worldwide.”

This move of Binance Exchange to hire Former IRS officer, probably a better move. Because many times situation comes where Binance needed to work on money laundering or illegal activities investigation. A recent case can be seen where U.K’s court ordered Binance to investigate in a hack where hackers sold the stolen fund on Binance P2P platform.
