Exchange Firm Bakkt hiring Veterans from Google and Paypal

The Bitcoin Futures exchange Bakkt had hired two great veterans from renowned companies like PayPal and Google at a position of Chief Product Officer.

The firm has announced that they have a hired Mike Blandina who has served as head of payments and credit engineer at Paypal. The other is the director of engineering for Google Wallet.

To this added that Blandina has recently serving as Cheif technology officer and head of product and engineering at Onemarket.

Bakkt’s CEO KELLY Loeffler mentioned in a blog post that:

“As our CPO, Mike will lead our efforts to converge a trusted ecosystem for digital assets with payments use cases, two elements of Bakkt that help bring real-world applications to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies,”.

This reveals what work will be assigned to the newly hired Veterans, she also mentioned that the firm is currently in a state of limbo and awaits regulatory approval.

The firm still has no official launch date after multiple delay’s but the CEO hinted that the launch date is near when she quoted “race day is approaching”.

More work is to be done and seems she is proud of the distance that they have travelled together mention’s Loeffler.

But the firm is still awaiting it’s approval form the U.S Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

To this, she further added:

“We are mindful that the infrastructure we are building has the potential to create more opportunities for digital assets to grow in relevance and trust — by being more secure, investible and useful.”

Bitcoinik reported that Coinbase exchange launching its debit card for UK customers. There’s a certain amount of downfall in funding by the ICO, in the first quarter of 2019 as compared with the last quarter of 2018.
