Mozilla foundation getting negative responses from its community because of its crypto donation initiative.

Mozilla is a popular web browser. However this Browser is not much popular at present but still, this browser covers around 7.97% shares in Desktop internet users, which is not a small number.

On 32 December, a nonprofit organization behind the Mozilla browser wrote on Twitter that they are accepting donations in Dogecoin through the Bitpay payment gateway.

After the tweet of the Mozilla foundation on donation, many users of Mozilla started to give negative responses to this initiative of the Mozilla foundation.

Datasette creator Simon Willison also shared his opinion and said that he wants to know whether Mozilla is surprised because of these negative responses or not.

Another frustrated user wrote that “Don’t make me download Chrome. Don’t make me do it”.

These are only a few negative comments on this initiative of Mozilla. We can directly see many negative tweets below the tweet of Mozilla.

Earlier, Mozilla established a partnership with the Coinbase exchange in 2014 to accept donations in Bitcoin.

This is not a new thing for the companies to face backslash for their dabbling in crypto. In the last few months, we saw Reddit, a Discord-like platform face backslash. In particular, Discord faced huge criticism and at the last moment, Discord executive said that they will not plan for crypto-related services for now.
