Nasdaq the stock exchange operator adding Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) indices later this month.
Nasdaq announced that on Monday that it has a partnership with New Zealand based blockchain firm Brave New Coin to offer information on the two new indices starting 25 Feb.
Nasdaq added a “real time” information on the two indices Bitcoin Liquidity Index (BLX) and Ethereum Liquidity Index (ELX) on the Nasdaq Global Index Data ServiceSM (GIDS).
Nasdaq said that the indices are calculated by a methodology that is audited against the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
BLX is one of the commonly used BTC indices and is calculated from 2010. ELX has been calculated from 2014.
Nasdaq is very positive about the blockchain technology and will launch its cryptocurrency platform in 2019.
