Australia’s largest crypto exchange hires former ASX and Tyro executives

Australia’s largest crypto exchange, BTC Markets, added two former workers of the ASX and Tyro firm to the advisory body of the firm. 

After the US, Australia is a hub of the crypto industry and also regulators are trying their best to make Australia a leader in the crypto industry to bring legislation to control and regulate the market perfectly. BTC Markets is an Australian crypto exchange. This exchange has around 325,000 users. And also this exchange facilitated more than AU$17.1 billion.

BTC Markets announced the hiring of David Raper and Garry Duursma. These two people will work with the platform to expand the crypto business, in the advisory board of the firm. 

Caroline Bowler, The CEO of BTC markets, shared about this new joining of two executives in its advisory board. Bowler said that these two new members will help the platform to achieve the vision. 

“We have been looking for some time for people to join at that senior advisory level…and in lockstep and part of a broader expansion plan.”

Duursma has 7 years of working experience in traditional firms. Lastly, he worked in the Tyro, and before that he served his talent in MasterCard. Raper worked at ASX for 15 years and has also held positions at J.P. Morgan and SFE Corporation.

Bowler said that these two new joiners have huge experience in the traditional financial ecosystem and these two talents will surely meet the need of the firm to achieve the goals. Further, she continues 

“Mr. Raper’s experience in the ASX is not just for retail clients, it’s also heavily on the institutional side. And for us, that’s the trend that we’re looking to capture.”
