Apple is working to bring a feature for the merchants to accept payments in crypto directly through the phone.
Despite the volatility in the price of crypto assets, people are moving rapidly with crypto and blockchain technology because of its uniqueness to bring ease in life. In the past few years, adoption of this crypto industry surged because of retail investment but now tech giant companies started to show their toe in the crypto industry.
On 8 February, Apple published a blog about its new feature which will come in the next mobile models. Through the blog, Apple noted that new tap to pay features will have NFC technology-backed contactless payment in crypto assets as an option.
The new feature in Apple will enter with the support of credit cards, debit cards, and many other digital wallets based payment options.
The majority of the experts believe that such features will allow the Coinbase and CryptoCom backed Crypto card users to spend their crypto assets easily to pay with iPhone. While few experts noted that Apple may not support such Crypto-backed cards directly, it will be a matter of time to see the new move by Apple.
Apple in crypto Industry
In the past, Apple denied having any plan to go with the crypto-based initiatives but still Apple’s services did partnership directly with a few crypto companies.
In August of last year, US-based Nasdaq-listed public crypto exchange Coinbase announced its partnership with ApplePay and GooglePay to allow its users directly to buy crypto assets.
However, Apple doesn’t have its hand in crypto directly but its CEO Tim Cook revealed that he has some crypto assets in his portfolio. He also said that there is no immediate plan for Apple to accept crypto for its services.
