Gucci now accepts NFT coin “Ape”

Luxury fashion brand Gucci jumped in support of the newly launched coin, Apecoin.

Apecoin (APE) was launched on 17 March of this year. This token is based on the ERC-20 governance and utility concept and also it is backed by the Decentralized organization ApeCoinDAO. ApecoinDAO operating this coin. Because of the governance system, Apecoin holders own the right to vote on the proposals suggested by the community to introduce in the Apecoin project. 

On 2 August, The Italian luxury fashion company house Gucci announced that the company now accepting payments in Apecoin via the crypto payment platform Bitpay.

Gucci’s tweet confirmed that the company is planning to do something big in the crypto & blockchain industry, besides the introduction of crypto payment as an option in Gucci stores. In particular, Company tweeted that it is going to be another step in the Web3 world.

Here we can’t say with 100% surity whether Gucci is a fan of Cryptocurrency & Blockchain technology or not because Gucci is a fashion brand and it knows very well that stepping with trends & new fashion will only help to sustain the future business. 

The first time Gucci officially jumped in the crypto industry in the beginning of May of this year. At that time company confirmed that it will accept payments in selecting flagship digital assets like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu.

But here the decision to accept Apecoin may be a promotional strategy however the tweet by the company hinted that the company may introduce some kind of Web3 inclined support in its services. 

Apecoin project team already has hands in Metaverse, an advanced virtual reality technology-based project, so there are chances that Gucci may set up its shop in the virtual world.
