Bittrex Hacked Using SIM Swap And $1 Million Stolen By Criminals

Most popular US-regulated bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex hacked by using the SIM swap technique and criminals stole the 100 Bitcoins that worth almost $1 million at the time of the hack, reported on 04 November 2019.

As per the report, the hacker attacked on a high profile victim’s mobile phone and then by seizing it did a SIM swap from cellular carrier AT&T, After taking the control on the victim’s online identity, the hacker stole the bitcoins from the Bittrex exchange.

The hack against the Seattle-based angel investor Gregg Bennett is already in the investigation and still, there is no progress that has been seen so far.

Bittrex ignored and did not comment on anything on Gregg Bennett especially.

There are already a lot of cases happened against the hack of the Bittrex account of users especially using SIM hack or SIM swap. So this is really a big issue of concern for Bittrex exchange.

Previously, The leading cryptocurrency futures exchange Bitmex twitter exchange is hacked, Bitmex Twitter Hacked Hackers get access to Bitmex official account and posted two tweets that were deleted instantly by the Bitmex team.
