Bitcoin & other the majority of crypto transactions are transparent to the public but still, bad actors try to use public crypto assets (ETH, BTC, etc) in their illegal activities, despite taking care that they will be caught in the trap of enforcement agencies easily.

Recently the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that in the last month, several cases have arisen in which scammers mainly targeted major grocery chains.

Usually, store employees receive calls from scammers. Through the call, Scammer demands nearly $5k worth of Bitcoin and warned that if he tried to reach out to police authorities or would not pay the mentioned Bitcoin amount then he would detonate bombs.

Despite such threats, the majority of the store’s employees contacted enforcement authorities and found that scammers were playing a fear game to make money & they were not using any kind of real bomb-like things in their illicit activities.

The investigation is going on & investigators are trying their best to catch the actors behind such activities.

Scammers target Twitter users

Just a few weeks ago, we reported that the bad actors are targeting the high profile & famous crypto & non-crypto Twitter accounts to promote their fake & suspicious crypto-airdrop campaign, to easily scam innocent people.

According to an investigation by popular crypto detective ZachXBT, such scammers succeeded in stealing more than $1 million worth of cryptocurrencies via fake/scam crypto-airdrop campaigns.

Crypto Awareness

It is worth it to note that the majority of those people get into scams, which are not aware of Bitcoin & Crypto. And also the majority of government agencies are not aware of the potential ability of the public crypto Network, which can help to trace the bad actors easily.

If enforcement agencies can use cryptocurrencies to trace the bad actors then they can do it easily but unfortunately, they are not doing it, as they are not educated in terms of crypto education.
