Elon Musk says he will ban Apple smartphones from his companies

Elon Musk clarified that he will restrict the entry of Apple smartphones into his companies if Apple integrates ChatGPT in Apple iOS. 

Elon Musk is the richest person in the world and is also known for his strong advocacy for the popular meme Cryptocurrency Dogecoin (Doge). In March of this year, Musk announced the launch of X’s Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot called “Grok”. He introduced Grok Chabot as an add-on service on the X platform (formerly Twitter) for premium users. 

On 11 June 2024, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the launch of Apple Intelligence, to enhance the AI-related features across Apple’s official app services.

At Apple’s 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference on June 10, the company announced “Apple Intelligence,” a set of new AI features. These will be available later this year in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.

Recently a report by Bloomberg disclosed that Apple will use OpenAI’s AI chatbot ChatGPT for Apple Siri voice assistant to give better results for Apple users. 

In short, Apple will integrate the use of ChatGPT at the iOS level in its smartphones, so that Apple users can get better & smooth service via ChatGPT indirectly. 

Elon Musk noted that such things may not be good for his company’s security policies. 

Musk said that if Apple will integrate ChatGPT at iOS level in smartphone products then surely he will ban the entry of Apple smartphones in his companies (Tesla, SpaceX, etc). 

In a follow-up tweet, Musk said that he would restrict his employees from putting their Apple phones in the Faraday Cage before entering the company door.

Some Crypto enthusiasts said that it is time for Tesla to establish a new smartphone company to launch the Tesla smartphone.
