The chief executive officer of Apple confirmed that Apple is planning to invest in Metaverse base projects.
The concept of Metaverse got huge popularity after the decision of Facebook CEO to rebrand his company into Meta. At present Disney, Microsoft, and Samsung like companies are confident with their decision to go with the Metaverse concept.
Now in this race of Metaverse, Apple also entered to step with the ongoing trend of augmented reality to the next level.
On 27 January, when Apple CEO was questioned about the Metaverse-based planning of the Company, during the calls event.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said that there are lots of opportunities in the Metaverse and Apple will invest according to it.
“We’re always exploring new and emerging technologies and I’ve spoken at length about how it’s very interesting to us right now.”
Due to the news of Apple’s investment in Metaverse, APPL stock pumped by around 8% within a few hours.
An insider of Apple revealed that 14,000 apps available in the Apple’sApps store were designed using the AR developer platform ARKit. So all these designed apps can give access to the users to use in Metaverse.
Earlier this Apple’ headset for the Metaverse-based projects was planned to launch in early 2022 but later on, 14 January Bloomberg reported that delay will take place because there are software and hardware integration challenges with such things.
At present, Metaverse is still in the very initial phase and it is expected that real versions of Metaverse-based projects can be seen in 2023.
Meta (former Facebook) is also working to create its Headset to use in Metaverse. Microsoft is also working to create gloves and headsets for the Metaverse-based projects.
