Cointracking platform Coingecko notes Solana is 46 times faster than Ethereum
Coingecko statistics noted Solana beats all the crypto networks in terms of actual throughput while performing only 1.6% of its actual throughput potential.
Solana (Sol) is a popular Proof-of-stake (PoS) crypto network that is mainly known for its unique protocol Proof-of-history (PoH) which allows it to process the crypto transaction on the network with the scalability of up to 65,000 transactions per second (TPS).
Recently a popular cointracking platform Coingecko reported the list of fastest blockchain networks and labelled Solana (Sol) as the fastest blockchain network.
The report noted that the Solana network has a theoretical potential of 65,000 TPS but currently, it is operating at 1.6% of its theoretical scalability and even at this low scalability Solana network is 46 times faster than the Ethereum blockchain network & 5 times over the popular Ethereum layer-2 scaling network Polygon (Matic).
Coingecko’s report stated Solana is currently the fastest major blockchain, hitting a new high of 1,504 transactions per second on April 6th this year during a surge in crypto meme coin activity on the network.
It is worth it to note that the recent performance report of the Ethereum blockchain showed that the scalability of the Ethereum network is nearly 22.70 TPS, while Ethereum and its top 10 layer-2 scaling solutions only combine for 500 TPS.
Readers need to understand that the report was prepared by the Coingecko team on behalf of actual performance data of the Ethereum & Ethereum layer-2 scaling networks.
Coingecko’s report listed many other crypto networks as the fastest, after Solana. Namely, these networks are Sui Network (SUI), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Polygon (MATIC), Toncoin (TON), Tron (TRON), Near Protocol (NEAR) and Avalanche (AVAX).
