Dogecoin co-creator demands Solana meme token donation

Billy Marcus invited people to donate some meme tokens, which rapidly grabbed huge popularity among crypto traders over the last few weeks.

Billy Markus is a co-founder of Dogecoin (Doge). Markus launched Dogecoin in Dec 2013 with his friend Jackson Palmer. Jackson is outside of the crypto sector but Markus remains active on X (formerly) Twitter to promote crypto adoption but he doesn’t like investing in any Crypto but holding some small amount of Dogecoin (Doge). 

In 2020, Top richest personality Elon Musk jumped in support of Dogecoin (Doge) & made it popular globally. Many people became rich with this token investment. Inspired by Dogecoin, many crypto tokens entered the crypto sector and grabbed popularity e.g. Shiba Inu (Shib), Bonk token, Floki token. 

In the last two months, many tokens on the Solana network were launched by unknown crypto enthusiasts and grabbed trading volume in millions & some of them in billions e.g. Bome, Snap, Slerf, Dogewifhat, Bonk2.0, Smog, etc.

In response to the surging popularity of these meme tokens on the Solana network, Dogeco co-founder Markus asked people to give credit to him.

He shared his Solana crypto wallet address and asked people to donate some meme tokens.

At the time of writing this article, his wallet received $8k worth of meme tokens and 41 Sol coins.

Before Dogecoin, Markus was planning to launch Belscoin (BEL) Cryptocurrency. On the official Bitcoin discussion forum Bitcointalk, Markus came up with the idea for Bells, a virtual currency inspired by Animal Crossing, but later he dropped his idea to work on Dogecoin which grabbed huge popularity just after launch.

The current trade price of Dogecoin (Doge) is $0.13 & this trade price is 3.7% higher over the last 24 hours.
