The president of the ECB official says that they will start an Investigation on digital Euro and it will last for the next 2 years.
Recently ECB officials claimed that Stable coins are assets not currency. And we should not also treat them like currency. The president of ECB officials says they will start Investigation on digital euros.

Christine Lagarde, President of ECB, talked about the digital assets specially on the Stable coins ( CBDCs), in an interview last week.
Christine said that they will start their official Investigation for the next 2 years. The Investigation will start from October 2021. They will try to understand how they can use and implement it in practical life use.
Christine took the reference of her interview on Economics time and tweeted that we should be ready for the technology available on the people’s demand. And this is the main reason to start their Investigation of Digital Euro.
“We are now starting to investigate what a digital euro might look like. This investigation phase will start in October 2021 and last for about two years”

Christine also pointed out clearly that if people would like to use digital Euros instead of bank notes or cash, then surely it will remain available for them.
So clearly, she wants to give full surety that people will get full freedom over their own choice and demand what they like most.
“We should respond to that demand. And make sure that we have a solution that is European based, that is secure, that is available under friendly terms, that can be used as a means of payment at reasonable terms as well and does not jeopardize the whole banking system, which should be part and parcel of the proposal”
She further added that, the next two year Investigation experiment will give an exact outcome based on the demand. And also she further said that it will be efficient, cheap, better and not only available for the European region but also at global level.
