Human Rights Foundation running Bitcoin bug bounty program
Human Rights Foundation offers 20 Bitcoins as a reward to bug bounty hunters, which are willing to uncover bugs in the open-source protocol that relies on the Bitcoin blockchain network.
The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a non-profit organization that focuses on promoting and protecting human rights globally, with an emphasis on closed societies. In 2005, this foundation was founded by Thor Halvorssen Mendoza. This foundation also supports Bitcoin as the best tool for people to remain independent from centralized & restricted payment systems.
At the present time, the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is running a bug bounty program to uncover any kind of hidden bugs linked with open-source Bitcoin protocols. This bounty program mainly aims to secure all the open source Bitcoin mobile wallets.
In an interview with Decrypt news media, HRF Chief Strategy Officer Alex Gladstein said that the foundation reserved 20 Bitcoins (nearly a half million dollars at the current Bitcoin trade price).
Overall efforts will help support open-source development on the Bitcoin protocol, centered around ten improvements to the Bitcoin user experience (UX).
Gladstien said:
“HRF views Bitcoin and financial freedom as one aspect of the human rights struggle…(..)…The fact is human rights defenders are persistently attacked through their bank accounts… Bitcoin allows them to keep going.”
Bitcoin accessibility
Over the 4 years, huge numbers of Bitcoin proponents, and crypto companies jumped to push the adoption of Bitcoin blockchain network.
For example the former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey decided to establish the easiest way to mine Bitcoin & support the network, just like running a PC.
Business intelligence firm Microstrategy also planning to develop a unique & better Bitcoin app, so that people can use the Bitcoin blockchain network in real life for real needs.
Over the last couple of years, some Bitcoin companies developed simple Bitcoin addresses on the Bitcoin lightning networks, so that people can remember their Bitcoin addresses just like email addresses, in order to help people to accept Bitcoin payment across the world without taking any tension of the complicated Bitcoin address.
