Metamask warned users and suggested to remain away from auto backup based services of iCloud.
Metamask is an Ethereum blockchain-based web wallet, which is standing in the top categories of the crypto wallet list. Right now this wallet is available at browser extension and as a mobile app, MetaMask provides a key vault, secure login, token wallet, and token exchange.
On 17 April, the Metamask team issued a notification for all the MetaMask users on Twitter and noted that there are chances of some scams & hacking for the iCloud users.
Metamask explained that iCloud usually includes all encrypted passwords & credentials so if any user will use such auto-backup options then in that situation it may result in an unexpected scam, in case of phishing attacks by someone, easily.
“If you have enabled iCloud backup for app data, this will include your password-encrypted MetaMask vault. If your password isn’t strong enough, and someone phishes your iCloud credentials, this can mean stolen funds.”
Metamask also posted a step-by-step guide to disable the iCloud backup option to stop the backup of Metamask wallet Data.
Experts noted that here we can’t blame Metamask or Apple’ iCloud platform for any kind of security breach because these things are already secured and safe but involvement of these services with local device may result in some issues because details of backup data usually goes through local storage system of mobiles and other devices, that user uses, so we need to remain aware in advance.
Metamask tokenÂ
Metamask is a popular wallet and the team behind this wallet is aware of its popularity, so it is planning to introduce its native token with some unique concepts.
However not much is known about the native coin of Metamask but a few bad actors are actively trying to create fake Metamask coins to facilitate scams on innocent users.
Many crypto investors are eagerly waiting for the launch of the native token of Metamask but here it will be a matter of time to see the real Metamask token.
