Nintendo interested in Metaverse: Report

A financial analyst noted that Nintendo hinted that they may invest in NFTs or Metaverse-based projects as per their potential and opportunities.

In recent months NFTs, Metaverse, and Blockchain gaming-based topics grabbed huge traction. The majority of tech companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Meta, Adobe, Disney, and many other popular and unpopular companies showed their full support and interest in the AR-based next-level project, Metaverse. 

During the latest Nintendo’s financial results Question & Answer session, Nintendo was asked about their plan to go in NFTs and Metaverse. 

According to David Gibson, senior analyst at MST Financial, Nintendo seems interested in this sector, and also they can think as per the potential of the opportunities with such projects but they are not definite that what they will do, obviously have no planing.

“We do have interest in this area, we feel the potential in this area, but we wonder what joy we can provide in this area and this is difficult to define right now,” the Japanese video game company reportedly said.

Besides this, In a response tweet, Gibson confirmed that Nintendo mainly looks at Metaverse-based projects, instead of NFTs. 

Past decisions and activities by Nintendo clearly showed that the company is inclined to all those tech and innovations, which can bring a revolution to the gaming world. 

The below chart is clearly showing that how Nintendo has the potential to take a step in this initial phase to get into Metaverse. And also it will be better for this company to go with Metaverse because already the company has huge satisfied customers with its gaming system.

NFTs Blockchain gaming 

Recently many gaming companies announced that they are working on blockchain-based gaming and also they will introduce NFTs Marketplace for their gamers, where users can buy and sell the gadgets used in the games like characters, weapons, clothes, etc. However few gaming companies already launched their blockchain and NFTs based platforms but their users seems not happy with new things.

Now it seems that the gaming world is going to at that level, where we didn’t ever expect, but here we have to wait till 2023 for real Metaverse.
