Ponderay Newsprint Mill might be back in business because the new owners of this company are planning to start with the crypto mining operations.

Ponderay Newsprint Mill in Usk was the biggest firm which had 150 workers with numbers of other employees. But in April it was sold to Allrise Capital Inc, with $18.1 million funds because of bankruptcy. The new owners are planning for the mining operations.

According to reports, the new owners of the Ponderal Newsprint Mill requested to get the supply of electricity from the grid to operate their crypto mining operations.

According to The Spokesman-Review, if this firm gets approval to get electricity then probably it will be the biggest mining firm in the US.

This company has big buildings and storage areas. And the whole property is located on the 927-acre.

According to the new owner plans, they will not only operate crypto mining operations but also they will run cardboard packaging businesses that will offer huge jobs for workers.

Todd Behrend, who worked in this firm, said that they will try to reopen this mill again and also they will try to hire those workers who were doing their job earlier in this company.

And also added that

Under their new planning “it would be a very substantial operation and certainly a premier employer in the county again.”
