DCG invests in Decentralized Artificial Intelligence (deAI)
Digital Currency Group (DCG) founder Barry Silbert stated that the future of decentralised Artificial Intelligence (deAI) is very big, even more than Bitcoin. He predicted that deAI could be the next big era for the digital assets market. He disclosed that DCG invested nearly $105 million in more than a dozen deAI projects & also has plans to allocate more capital to this new sector.
SEC postpones BlackRock’s ETH options application
The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) postponed the application for Ethereum ETF options filed by the top fund manager BlackRock. According to Bloomberg ETF Eric Balchunas, this decision by the SEC body was linked with the current leadership of the regulatory body. Probably awaiting the confirmation of Paul S. Atkins as the new SEC chairman. Currently, Mark Uyeda is the acting chairman of this agency.
Donald Trump to Introduce Reciprocal Tariffs
As per reports, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of reciprocal tariffs next week to tackle unfair taxes placed on U.S. goods by other countries. Trump didn’t mention any country but indirectly hinted that his decision would impact EU member countries. The US president criticized the European Union for imposing high tariffs in the past to pressure other countries on several issues like immigration and drug smuggling. Experts believe this development will give a better boost in the short term for the crypto space, but the stock market will crash significantly because it will increase the chances for similar reactions by the EU & China-like countries.
CFTC to launch digital asset markets pilot program
On 7 Feb 2025, The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the second top financial regulatory body after the SEC, announced its decision to hold a CEO Forum to discuss its new crypto tokens markets pilot program. In this program, big digital assets-focused companies like Circle, Coinbase, Crypto.com, and Ripple will participate. The main vision of the discussion will remain focused on using tokenized non-cash assets, such as stablecoins. The final goal of this discussion will be to explore how digital assets can be safely used in traditional finance.
Japanese financial regulator orders Apple to remove crypto apps
The Japanese Financial Services Agency, responsible for monitoring whether financial activities by any financial institution comply or not, has asked Apple and Google to delete crypto exchange applications from their corresponding app stores. The list includes five overseas cryptocurrency exchanges, including Bybit, KuCoin, MEXC, LBank and Bitget. At the time of publication of this report, these apps are unavailable to download on the Apple Store in Japan.

BNB chain community proposal against malicious actors
On 7 Feb 2025, The BNB Chain community launched a new proposal to fight against malicious MEV. With this new proposal, they called on the community to actively report MEV attackers and avoid using unsafe RPCs that expose transactions. It also suggested the use of wallets with MEV protection functions and voting out those validators who are found in similar types of unethical behaviours. Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said that in the decentralized world of Cryptocurrency, everyone is open to doing anything with his talent, but if some impersonate others in an unethical way, then it is bad, such types of things can be easily reduced.
