Roaring Kitty, whose real name is Keith Gill, is a financial analyst and YouTuber known for his influential role in the GameStop stock saga.
Under the username “Roaring Kitty” on YouTube and “DeepFuckingValue” on Reddit, Gill shared his bullish analysis and investment in GameStop, a struggling video game retailer. His detailed posts and videos about the GameStop stock’s potential significantly contributed to the massive surge in GameStop’s stock price in early 2021.
That event, driven by retail investors on Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets community, led to a short squeeze that caused substantial losses for big hedge funds betting against the stock. In short Gill’s involvement in GameStop stock brought him into the spotlight and led to hearings before the U.S. Congress on market manipulation and the role of social media in stock trading.
On 17 June 2024, Roaring Kitty shared a picture of a player with red tape on their forehead.
In response, another Crypto X (formerly Twitter) user shared pre-sale details for the $Kitty meme token and suggested people buy before launch.
This X user has a user name similar to the official Roaring Kitty username. In short, the bad actor is trying to mislead people.
All the readers are requested to be aware of such misleading advertisements of new meme tokens, which are not even backed by the official Roaring Kitty actor.
