Reportedly lightning-enabled Chivo wallet of El Salvador is not working perfectly to boost the adoption.
On 7 September El Salvador officially adopted Bitcoin as a currency and on the same day the country launched its official Bitcoin wallet, Chivo. Also, citizens, who signed up on the Chivo wallet, collected $30 worth of free Bitcoin. Chivo provides its services free of cost, which means no hidden cost for conversion or cashout through 200 Bitcoin ATMs of the country.
The whole concept to introduce Bitcoin use in financial transactions by El Salvador was cool and still a better rule but here technical problems are giving a road bump to the adoption of Bitcoin.
A few weeks ago, we reported that many people were sharing the issues that they were facing with the use of Chivo technically and financially. Many people claimed that some unknown Transactions took and a few claimed that they are not able to do any transactions.
As per available records, right now more than 1200 people reported about the issues with the use of Chivo wallet to the human rights organization Cristosa. And the majority of these 1,200 people claimed that some suspicious transactions took place without their permission.
Few users showed their anger on Twitter and claimed that they are facing issues, because Chivo wallet is still in the initial phase, but no support or response they are getting from the technical support team of Chivo.
A person on Twitter said that he facilitated transactions with a worth of $1,000 but failed and he has been waiting for a long time but he is not getting help. In return, Twitter Chivo wallet responded and asked to send a personal message for the same case. That person replied with his chat history, and the team didn’t respond for a long time.
These things are showing that there is huge improvement needed in the Chivo wallet and also that the government needs to hire more support agents so that problems can be solved within a small interval of time, otherwise people will hate Bitcoin adoption and Bitcoin laws.
Note: Here this article is not intended to show that El Salvador and its Bitcoin adoption tool is bad but here we want to suggest to the government of El Salvador to give better support because it will give a better boost to the adoption of Bitcoin.
