Chef Nomi, the nickname founder of the decentralized exchange protocol Sushiswap, said on Friday that they had returned 38,000 ETH – worth $14 million at the time of the press – to the project treasury fund.
After Nomi converted some of the sushi tokens assigned to the project development team to ETH, this anger erupted and led to a market downturn in the process and allegations of an exit scandal. That move eventually began a process of transferring control of SushiSwap to the FTX’s chief executive. Earlier this week, more than $800 million was transferred from Uniswap Liquidity Pools to Sushiswap as part of the immigration process.
In a subsequent post, Nomi wrote in the post:
“I want to apologize to everyone who caused trouble. I was emotional. I was greedy. I was scared. I made bad controversial decisions under pressure. And it hurt everyone. I failed your expectation and apologized,”
Nomi wrote the returned ETH transaction: ” I returned the amount of $14M worth of ETH to the treasury. “
Further, she/he said, “I let the community decide how much I earn as the original creator of SushiSwap”. Nomi posted the transaction on its blog and referred the $14 million to the Treasury Department. In addition to the ETH returned, Nomo also announced a transaction valued at $1 million.
“I will be involved in the discussion and technical implementation of sushiswap in this context. But I have no control. It takes no spotlight. It is not part of the regime,”
Nomi continued. “I believe SushiSwap continues to thrive. Please don’t block my mistake as a 100% community-run AMM. SushiSwap’s success stands as an example of many community-driven projects.”
