US Figure Skating teamed up with enterprise-level donation platform Engiven to accept cryptocurrencies.
Almost every industry in the world is looking the ways to show a better link to the crypto industry to attract users and also many organizations and businesses are working to take benefits and support from the crypto industry because of its access to global support by eliminating the boundaries of countries with Blockchain technology.
On 8 February, US Figure Skating, the United States national governing body for the sport of figure skating, announced that the agency started to accept donations in crypto assets officially.
To bring this initiative into reality, the association tied-up with the enterprise-level donation platform Ungiven. Engiven is giving the direct ability to the association to accept donations in multiple crypto assets.
Right now, US Figure Skating is accepting donations through its website via Engiven in cryptos like BTC, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and also some stable coins USD Coin and PAX Gold.
“U.S. Figure Skating now allows gifts of cryptocurrency for any of its major funds. Gifts of cryptocurrency are eligible for tax relief and can help U.S. Figure Skating to create programming for athletes,” the association’s website reads.
It is worth noting, the association will not hold crypto assets, instead it will convert the donations automatically into US dollars. But here positive news is, that, any government association using crypto payment methods.
Ramsey Baker, director at U.S. Figure Skating, stated that the latest initiative by the association was planned in September of last year so that the association can provide multiple donation options so that it can easily fund its athletes, clubs, programs, and initiatives.
“Allowing our supporters to give to U.S. Figure Skating using cryptocurrency makes sense in today’s quickly changing financial marketplace.”
The Association director also noted that more avenues are available for the new and old donors to support the association, so that association can help the athletes directly.
