Ubisoft is testing its beta version of the game with the integration of the blockchain inclined concept NFTs.
In the present time concept of Metaverse is an opportunity for all those tech platforms, which have their initiative toward gaming or digital content. Almost all gaming and NFTs inclined platforms are trying to do work at that level where they can touch the initiative of Metaverse to grab high-level attention and high-level businesses in this digital world.
On 7 December, Ubisoft announced its beta version of the game through a press release.
The new platform of Ubisoft is named “Ubisoft Quartz”. This new platform will allow a game user to own NFTs items. These NFTs items are named “digits”. And game users will be able to use these digits in the game.
Digits include many character-related items that can be used in the game like weapons, clothing, or vehicles. And all these will be deployed on the Tezos blockchain.
This initial phase of the launching of digits will be used in the PC game Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. All the game users, who will reach the fifth level will be able to claim digits. This will start from 9 December and it will include a gun, helmet, and pair of tactical pants in the form of “digits”.
The vice president of Ubisoft Innovation strategic, Nicolas Pouard, said that “Ubisoft Quartz is the first building block in our ambitious vision for developing a true metaverse”.
And also the president hinted that this initiative of Ubisoft will overcome all those limitations of blockchain gaming.
“And it can’t come to life without overcoming blockchain’s early-form limitations for gaming, including scalability and energy consumption.”
Poured also noted the initiative of Ubisoft to introduce a decentralized concept to make money by playing games, with the next 5 years of vision in the gaming industry.
However, Ubisoft is moving toward the NFTs and Blockchain but not all the gaming companies are willing to adopt the NFTs concept. For example, recently, Valve‘s team said that they are eliminating all the crypto and NFTs related things from their ecosystem including steam.
