This Year capacity of the Bitcoin lightning network didn’t surged more rapidly as per its usual growth momentum.
Bitcoin lightning network is a concept, which was introduced by the community of Bitcoin to make the adoption of Bitcoin in micropayments much better. In the very starting, the Bitcoin lightning network concept faced huge backlash because of the non-decentralized nature of the transactions system but later the lightning network saw better adoption because of the huge surge in the price of Bitcoin to remain away from high fees.
Report of Arcane Research found that the Bitcoin lightning network saw a less rapid surge over its usual exponential growth than we have seen in the last year.
The capacity of the Bitcoin lightning network surged from 1,000 to 3,000 Bitcoins within 8 months in 2021 but at the beginning of January of this year, it faced a significant downfall. That can be seen through the below chart

Right now, the Bitcoin lightning network is holding around less than 3500 Bitcoins and this thing is getting a better wave of discussion in the crypto community.
El Salvador contribution in Bitcoin lightning network adoption
In September of last year, El Salvador officially adopted Bitcoin as Currency alongside the US dollar. To push the citizens to use Bitcoin in micropayments, El Salvador officially launched the Lightning-enabled Bitcoin wallet Chivo.
After this initiative of El Salvador, the majority of the lightning network-enabled wallets are getting better support from users in El Salvador and also people are doing huge transactions in Bitcoin on the lightning network.
Recently Block backed mobile payment service CashApp announced the official integration of the Bitcoin lightning network to enable the users to pay in Bitcoin at almost zero cost.
