Hester M. Peirce shared her opinion on the future improvement in regulatory clarity because of the ongoing efforts by the regulatory bodies on crypto because of the current movements in the crypto industry.
Hester Maria Peirce is an American lawyer who serves as a Commissioner on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The administration of President Barack Obama selected Hester as Commissioner of the SEC. In the crypto industry, Hester is known as a Crypto mom because of her crypto-friendly nature.
Recently Hester M. Peirce, commissioner at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), appeared in an interview with Bloomberg Surveillance. Through the interview, She shared about the current ongoing events in the crypto Industry & responsive efforts by the govt regulatory bodies for the crypto Industry.
SEC commissioner said that huge regulatory clarity will come for the crypto industry, which will help the crypto companies to work under the regulatory framework to provide services confidently.
“All the activity in the crypto markets of late has focused regulatory minds in Washington so maybe we’ll get some regulatory clarity finally around crypto,” she said
Hester also explained the main issues associated with the global regulatory bodies with the crypto industry. She said that the majority of the regulators are trying to bring the crypto & blockchain industry under the existing traditional rules & laws, but it is not easy for them because this industry is significantly different from the traditional money market.
The SEC Commissioner admitted that few US government agencies are not in favor of crypto circulation but many of them are in favor of the crypto industry and they say that crypto is here to stay.
She said:
“I think there’s also been in Washington a bit of a desire to see crypto just disappear and I think people are realizing that that’s not likely to happen so maybe that will help people to think about where regulation is appropriate.”
It is worth noting that she indirectly hinted toward the crypto-friendly US senator Cynthia Lummis from Wyoming, who once said that crypto is here to stay.
