Crypto News Company CCN Shutdown After Loss Search Visibility On Google

The most popular crypto news company CCN shutdown after a big loss in search visibility on Google search engine reported on 10 June 2019.

The director and founder of CCN Markets, Jonas Borchgrevink stated in the post that the main reason behind the closure is a large drop off in the users’ traffic on CCN website from Google searches caused by the Google Core Update on 3 June 2019.

Borchgrevink also stated that the CCN news site’s traffic drop over 71% on mobile overnight.

CCN was founded in 2013 with the name CryptoCoinNews that after rebranding changed to its current moniker.

The founder notes that while traffic levels have been low in the past, so it is not possible to continue to operate in these conditions on advertiser revenue with the addition of new members to the team.

The Post reported that according to the data from Sistrix.com, the largest cryptocurrency news website CoinDesk lost traffic around 34.6% from search visibility on Google, and Cointelegraph media site also faced a 21.1% drop on search traffic on the mobile device as well.

Borchgrevink reportedly said that the CCN team will be moved to HVY.com which is the news platform for journalists.

The post of Borchgrevink was reported that the cryptocurrency websites are not the only one that has been affected by the past Google update, but there were some others also, specifically British tabloid The Daily Mail has seen large drop invisibility as well.
