Crypto traders ask Apple store to remove fake Crypto wallet “Rabby”

Many people reported that their funds drained from the wallet after downloading the Rabby crypto wallet, which was a fake version of the official wallet.

Rabby is an open-source crypto wallet that can be used in an internet browser for Ethereum. It is specially designed for DeFi users. In short, cross-chain crypto transactions can be easily done via this wallet. Rabby wallet is built and maintained by the DeBank team and is also supported on Chrome and Brave browsers.

On 9 Feb 2024, The Rabby wallet team informed the Rabby wallet users that their beta mobile app for Android launched and also mentioned that the app is under the review process on Apple’s app store.

Just a week ago, an unknown bad actor launched a fake version of Rabby Wallet on the Apple app store.

On 16 Feb 2024, Rabby officially responded to this matter and warned people not to download any Rabby wallet from the Apple app store because the official app is still under the review process & is not available to download. Furthermore, they suggested people download the app from the official website, for now.

At the time of writing this article, this fake app on the Apple App Store is visible, which means the Apple App Store team is still waiting to take action.

A person took to Reddit to inform the crypto community that so far some people lost their funds on Rabby wallet, so we need to remain aware of such suspicious crypto wallets as well and the Apple team needs to take sudden action against these fake apps.

This is not the first time when a bad actor successfully launched a fake crypto wallet, earlier in Nov 2023 a bad actor launched a fake version of the Ledger crypto wallet on the Microsoft app store and successfully stole nearly 17 Bitcoins.
