eBay Inc is an American multinational e-commerce company. This company is based in San Jose, California. The company facilitates consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales through its website. This company shows many times that the company is interested in the crypto & blockchain industry significantly to bring better customer experiences.

On 28 July, Michael Kondoudis, license trademark attorney, took to Twitter and confirmed that eBay filed an application for the trademark regarding NFT exchanges and NFT trading, virtual goods marketplaces, and online retail stores with physical and virtual goods.

According to the attached details, the company filed its trademark application on 23 June with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

According to the filed trademark details by the company, it is expected that the company may introduce its high-level interactive website for its customers to allow them to engage with cryptocurrencies on the blockchain. The company also plans to offer exchange services relating to NFTs but it will be a matter of time whether the company will limit its services to the website level or will introduce a virtual reality concept based on Metaverse, where customers will be allowed to choose & see the products in advance, for which they want to do shopping.

Earlier, in late February of this year, eBay CEO Jamie Iannone shared some plans of the company during an interview and revealed that the company is planning to introduce crypto payment methods.

Through the interview, eBay’s CEO said that the company is planning to bring the young generation, Gen Z and Millennials, toward the platform.

eBay is one of those companies which showed its interest in Crypto in early stages. In 2014 the company tried to integrate Bitcoin payment options for the users. In the recent past, companies started to allow NFTs to purchase for the customers.
