Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the Non-fungible Tokens ( NFTs) feature will be supported on Instagram soon for the users.
Instagram is a popular social media platform. Right now the platform is standing at 4th rank worldwide, in terms of the highest used and engaged platform among social media. Instagram is under the ownership of Meta (Formerly Facebook). Since last year, engineers of Instagram have been working on adding NFTs support on the platform.
According to reports, during the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive officer of Meta, unveiled that video & photo social media platform Instagram is much closer to adding NFTs support.
“We’re working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near term.”
However, Facebook’s founder didn’t reveal any particular or exact date to add NFTs support but hinted that next month it can enter, according to experts’ point of view.
Platformer newsletter writer Casey Newton also informed his followers on Twitter that Instagram will add NFTs support with the NFTs minting ability and also noted that he wrote for Meta about the risk of Metaverse related projects.
Instagram NFTs & Crypto
However NFTs integration baset engineering work has been going on since long time by the engineers of Instagram and also officials of Instagram revealed about it many times, to attract NFTs lovers and supporters but probably here NFTs will not welcome crypto-related activities.
In the past, Meta company tried many crypto-related projects like Novi wallet, Libra coin but failed because of the regulatory & legal scrutiny issues. Even Meta sold its stakes from its crypto & blockchain project Diem last month. So there is a 99.99% chance that Instagram will keep the crypto industry away from its platform to remain away from any legal hurdles.
