South Korean multinational electronic giant LG is planning to launch blockchain smartphones.
Local media outlet IT Chosun reported on 8 September that the company has completed its research on blockchain companies and decentralised apps (dApps). The report added:
“LG is likely to respond to Samsung’s innovation initiative,” the source added. Another official familiar with the LG Group told IT Chosun that the company has been “struggling to apply blockchain to smartphones without any dissimilarity.”
The past week another Korean Giant Samsung launched another blockchain smartphones named “Klaytnphone” as Galaxy S10 new variant. The Klaytnphone variant is only available in South Korea and range starts over $1,000.
Samsung launched its Galaxy S10 earlier this year with inbuilt Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency wallet and also supports dApps. Samsung said that they are planning to launch budget blockchain smartphones to introduce more people to blockchain technology.
