Distributed ledger is a type of blockchain based concept. But it is different from blockchain technology.

Normally we can create tokens with the use of smart contract features on the blockchain network, similarly people also can create tokens at Distributed Ledger platform. But one thing makes Distributed Ledger different from the blockchain, centralisation.

Distributed ledger can be Centralised or non Centralised, it all depends upon the developers in which way he wants to allow their users and how he designs the system for use.

So a Distributed Ledger can also work as a Blockchain network.

Recently, Microsoft got approval to give this feature to their customers to create tokens like crypto. But the exact date to launch this feature has not been announced yet.

According to Microsoft, the Distributed Ledger facility comes with tons of problems to use but they will make it better and more easily to accessible for their users to issue tokens easily.
