The internet hacktivist group Anonymous claimed that Yuga Labs & its NFTs project cheated its users.
Anonymous is a YouTube channel backed by internet hacktivists. This group anonymously issued statements, warnings & information on high-profile matters, which usually remain related to political & powerful personalities like Elon Musk, Vladimir Putin, etc.
On 27 September, the Anonymous group published a video on YouTube and said that Crypto company Yuga Labs and its nonfungible token (NFT)-driven social club, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) are involved in several controversial subjects like Nazism, racism, simianization, and pedophilia.
Internet activists group also claimed that this crypto project also deceived people who are holding Apecoin & its NFTs.
One of the Internet activists said:
“Anonymous is certain that the BAYC collection and the Yuga labs brand are infected with not one or two — but with dozens of examples of esoteric symbolism and dog whistles reflecting Nazism, Racism, Siminization, and Pedophilic support.”
Earlier this, on 24 June, Greg Solano, co-founder of Yuga Labs, said that some bad actors are spreading misleading information about the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
Via a medium blog post, Greg said:
“We’ve become the target of a crazy disinformation campaign accusing us — a group of Jewish, Turkish, Pakistani, and Cuban friends — of being super-secret Nazis.”
In short Yuga Labs’ co-founder denied all the allegations and claimed that allegations are based on factless points.
In late July of this year, a class action lawsuit was also initiated against the Yuga Labs team. Through the Lawsuit, Plaintiff claimed that the company increased the hype of Apecoin inappropriately.
The lawsuit alleged that the Apecoin price was manipulated significantly with the involvement of popular personalities to promote & indirectly force people to go with NFTs & Apecoin investment.
