Allegedly former UK PM asked $1 million Bitcoin (BTC) for an interview

Tucker Carlson claimed that Boris Johnson asked for $1 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC) for an interview.

Boris Johnson is a British politician and writer. He was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) and Leader of the Conservative Party from 2019 to 2022. In July 2022, he faced multiple allegations of misusing his power, so he resigned from the PM role and later Rishi Sunak was appointed as the new PM of the UK.

In a recent interview the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson with Blaze TV said that Boris Johnson’s team informed him of the interview’s possibility but attached a very high fee demand.

Carlson said that the former Prime Minister demanded a million US dollars, gold, or Bitcoin as a fee for the interview.

Carlson said that he reached out to Johnson’s team only for the interview to talk about Ukraine & show his position on the Ukraine situation. However, this interview never happened but this information in the public domain created a very big controversy in the UK.

This controversial matter raised questions over the acceptance of Bitcoin as a very big payment solution in an inappropriate way and here we need to understand that we are talking about the UK, a highly developed country where strict laws allow only particular numbers of companies to provide crypto services.

Notably, the former UK PM showed his appearance in some crypto & blockchain-related events. As per reports, Johnson earned £250,000 for a speech held at blockchain company ParallelChain Lab in Singapore. Also received a £1 million donation from a Thailand-based cryptocurrency investor.

So here we can say, the former UK prime minister is already deeply involved in the crypto & blockchain sector. When Johnson resigned from the PM position then the whole crypto sector was shocked because the majority of the crypto entrepreneurs showed scepticism over the new leadership & his views on cryptocurrency adoption in the UK but thankfully Rishi Sunak was appointed as a new PM, who already passed several Bitcoin friendly statements in the past.
