former Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO says Metaverse is annoying
The founder of PlayStation shared his stance on the Metaverse and said that it is not more than an annoying thing.
The concept of Metaverse and the virtual world became a very hot topic after the decision of Facebook to change its name to Meta. Right now, the majority of the tech companies are considering going with Metaverse-based projects. Overall we can say that Metaverse became a hot niche for the majority of the tech companies.
Right now, the majority of the gaming companies are trying to take advantage of Metaverse because they know that there is a very strong link between games and the Virtual world concept. Besides all these, there are also a few people who are not interested in this new era of the virtual world concept.
71-year-old Ken Kutaragi, the creator of PlayStation and former CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, recently appeared in an interview with Bloomberg. In the interview, he clearly said that the Metaverse trend is not unique, what people are thinking.
Ken believes that Metaverse and virtual reality projects are not moving the world toward a unifying approach, instead, it is trying to divide.
“Being in the real world is very important, but the Metaverse is about making quasi-real in the virtual world, and I can’t see the point of doing it. You would rather be a polished avatar instead of your real self? That’s essentially no different from anonymous message board sites.”
Ken also asserted that he doesn’t like VR headset-like things because these things are keeping people away from reality, so basic these things are annoying for him.
Earlier this, Bank of America strategist Haim Israel, shared his stance on Metaverse and claimed that it can give a very big push to the tech and crypto industry and also cryptocurrencies use cases are very important in the Metaverse but for that right platform and stable coins, cryptocurrency may work more perfectly.
