Indian University became become member of Hedera Hashgraph

IIT Madras became the latest to join the Hedera Hashgraph. IIT Madras aimed to study blockchain based technology and do research on Hedera consensus to implement in other blockchain based projects.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) seems much inclined toward blockchain technology, because for a long time they have been doing research on blockchain technology. Last time when IITM presented a blockchain based app ” BlockTrack”, then many blockchain firms showed their inclination towards IITM to support in their research related to blockchain technology. 

In the latest, IITM joined Hedera Hashgraph public blockchain. As we know IITM is a top level University of India and also it comes directly under jurisdiction of the Ministry of education of India. This university right now is doing research on blockchain and advancement of distributed ledger technology. 

Under the Hedera Hashgraph, IITM researchers will do research on public blockchains for payments via Hedera Consensus Service and the Hedera Token Service to test the capability and use case in financial infrastructure. 

Prabhu Rajagopal, Professor from IITM’s Center for Nondestructive Evaluation, statement on this matter and said that they will help other council members identify sustainable use cases with the use of blockchain based technology and added

“I am particularly enthused by the opportunity to test and scale our solutions in blockchain-backed information systems in healthcare, industry and digital media.”

In May, IITM introduced their BlockTrack app that was able to save the medical records and other data in the Decentralized medium.
