Two Facebook’s Digital Currency project engineers left for A16z

Top two engineers of the Facebook Digital currency project “Novi wallet” left and joined the A16Z crypto fund. 

Giant social media platform Facebook is working on its Novi Digital wallet to establish their business in the crypto space. Earlier this, Facebook entered in the crypto space through its Libra stablecoin but due to some legality issues they suspended their operations. But the blockchain engineers of Facebook are still working on the blockchain based development work like Novi wallet and other tools.

On 11 October, CNBC published a news article, Two engineers of the Blockchain developer team finally shifted to Andreessen Horowitz (A16z), a leading venture capital firm which focuses on the crypto sector only. 

These two engineers are Nassim Eddequiouaq and Riyaz Faizullabhoy. Riyaz will work at the position of Chief Technical officer at A16Z. While Nassim will work at the role of chief information security. These two top engineers of Facebook, worked at Facebook’s digital project for two years. 

Riyaz stated on this joined and added that 

“Andreessen Horowitz has shown an impressive dedication to advancing the entire crypto ecosystem over the past decade, and we jumped at the chance to join their premier team and provide technical support to their rapidly-expanding portfolio.”

The Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Albanese, of A16Z firm said that they are hiring talents of the crypto industry and these talents will help their firm to get “opportunity to impact the crypto ecosystem on a very broad scale”. 

“They’re going to be advising our portfolio companies and protocols to help them make sure that they have the most secure and sophisticated systems around”

Albanese also said that, these two people have their position in Facebook at specific roles. 

Before Facebook, Nassim Eddequiouaq and Riyaz Faizullabhoy  worked in Anchorage. Anchorage is a crypto custody firm. This is clear indication that these two Facebook engineers will be able to work at their best for a16Z which is a crypto fund.
