Reportedly, Wikileaks grabbed huge funding with the help of crypto assets donations.

Wikileaks is a nonprofit organization and it was established in 2006 by Julian Paul Assange. Julian is an Australian activist, publisher, and editor. In 2019, he got arrested in London and also faced a few other charges. In particular, he faced charges of hacking the Pentagon computer network in 2010.

As we know that Wikileaks is a nonprofit organization, so it is getting much better support from the whole world. Many times, the founder of Wikileaks faced huge issues but still, Wikileaks continuously worked independently with the support of public fund donations.

Because of the huge chances against the founder of Wikileaks, many payment networks blocked Wikileaks to accept fiat payments. These payment networks include Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, etc.

Because of the unfair action of the fiat payment firms action, Wikileaks adopted crypto payments donations. In 2010, Wikileaks also started to invest in cryptocurrencies, to continuously remain independent from the funding to give better information about the sensitive news that is needed to go public.

In the present time, Wikileaks accepts Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, ZCash, Monero, and Ethereum.

At current date, Wikileaks donation address of Bitcoin holding around 9 BTC, Bitcoin Cash 0.25, Litecoin address 163LTC, Zcash 84, Ethereum 145.5ETH.

These are only those amounts, which are not used by Wikileaks. The total received funds include around 30.45 BTC + 225.2 BCH. And if we calculate the whole funds then it will be around $2.2 million.

In 2017, Wikileaks revealed that they started to invest in Bitcoin and now they are in profit by around 50,000%. As we know, the price of Bitcoin in 2017 was around $5,000 and the current price is $50,000. So clearly Wikileaks made a huge profit with more than 200,000% Return on the investment.
