Kickstarter platform is not getting better support from the community over their crypto and blockchain-based integration to make the platform better and safer.

In the present time, crypto and blockchain technology use cases are increasing much rapidly over the other traditional technology use cases. In particular, we can see that many tech platforms are trying to use blockchain to bring genuine innovation and use cases for the users at the next level.

Kickstarter is a fundraising platform and also it is much popular in new businesses to get started.

Through blockchain technology introduction, the Kickstarter platform claimed that they will push the services to the next level and also will provide a decentralized ecosystem for those who are using Kickstarter.

Through the announcement, Kickstarter said:

“we’re supporting the development of an open-source protocol that will essentially create a decentralized version of Kickstarter’s core functionality”

However, the decision of Kickstarter is not wrong but here decentralized nature will eliminate many of these parties and middlemen. And this will impact the loss for those, who are playing the role of a middleman.

The majority of the Kickstarter users shared their opinions on Kickstarter’s blockchain adoption idea, through the Reddit and twitter-like social media platforms.

Many users claimed that Kickstarter’s blockchain initiative may damage the environment badly.

A Korean American game designer, Jeeyon Shim, also shared his point of view and said that they are heartbroken because of the decision of the recent partnership of Kickstarter to integrate Blockchain technology. And also suggested to Kickstarter that they should reconsider it.

Discord also faced the same situation as Kickstarter

In the last month, Discord also decided to integrate few crypto wallets in the Discord social media platform but most of the users of Discord criticized the idea and claimed that people will start to misuse the platform and this will boost the spammers crowd on the platform, which will not be a fair thing for the gaming community.

On the demand of the community, the Discord team decided to revoke the plans.
