WhatsApp to allow crypto Payments for US customers

Meta integrated crypto payments-based services in the giant social media platform WhatsApp. 

In the last month, Facebook rebranded into Meta (Metaverse). And the main initiative of the Meta company is to work on those tech projects, which are inclined to augment and virtual reality-based things. 

In the latest, Meta announced that the Novi project team integrated the Novi crypto wallet with the WhatsApp social media app. With this integration, all the WhatsApp users will be able to make crypto payments directly with WhatsApp use.

In this initial phase of starting this service, WhatsApp integrated Novi wallet will support USDP (Pax Stablecoin). And also this service will remain limited to the customers of the United States. 

Stephane Kasriel, chief at Novi, shared this pilot program of WhatsApp and Novi integration through Twitter. 

Novi chief revealed that the blockchain team of the Novi wallet working on this integration for more than 1.5 months. In the last month, few groups of people were allowed to test this feature and service. 

“Since we introduced the Novi pilot just six weeks ago, we’ve been able to test and learn which features and functionality are most important to people, and focus our efforts on making those even better.”

Facebook on Novi crypto wallet 

A few months ago, Meta’s blockchain team launched crypto Novi wallet for US customers. At that time, few US officials raised their voice against Novi’s wallet and claimed that Novi can cause private risks to the users. 

In response, Meta (Facebook) said that Facebook and Novi’s crypto wallet is independent things and there is no relationship with any of the products of the Facebook company. 

Earlier this, Meta (Facebook) company said that they will get a better boost and adoption of the Novi wallet because they already have a very big volume of the user base.
